ElCamino feat. Benny The Butcher – “Shrimp At Phillipes” [Video]

Griselda, you know the name.  Westside Gunn, Conway & Benny The Butcher;. From their inauspicious Buffalo roots, to co-mingling with Eminem and Jay-Z; in a non-plussed industry the crew has created a real and sustaining movement.  Now, the crew’s youngest and newest shooter, ElCamino, is ready to prove he is the next emerging star.

From his tumultuous past, to still being on house arrest, Camino creates art that is adjacent to the life he has lead and as he evolves—leaves behind.

Like his Griselda brothers, there is no disputing a real authentic ethos exists.  On his forthcoming project, ELCamino 2, Camino paints bleak tales and violent escapades which create exhilarating highs over an assortment of soulful and moody palettes.

After releasing the projects first single, “Stove Tops,” f/ 38 Spesh, which was highlighted by Pitchfork as Track Of The Day, Camino returns with a new single “Shrimp At Phillipes” featuring Benny The Butcher.

ELCamino2 will be released on 11-22-19 and features appearances from Benny The Butcher, 38 Spesh and production from Green Lantern and JR Swiftz.

Conway The Machine Releases ‘Look What I Became’ & New Video For “Tito’s Back” f/ Benny The Butcher & Westside Gunn

“The kid with the twisted face is the new face of Shady.”

His meteoric ascension aside, it’s miraculous that Conway is even still alive, much less the new face of Eminem’s Shady Records.  After suffering a bullet to the back of the head in 2012, the gnarly incident changed the technical way he rhymed, prompting him to adopt an off balance, but commanding and exacting flow, which Conway employs to depict the autobiographical world he expertly raps about and lives in—and as he knows, the consequences of the game are brutal.

Griselda’s (Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher & Westside Gunn) ascension, both collectively and individually is palpable.  From their inauspicious Buffalo roots, to signing with Eminem and Shady Records, the Griselda juggernaut has created a real and sustaining moment.  That movement is unified, authentic, raw, unfiltered, vivid and raw.  And there is no disputing that a real street ethos exists; one that has taken the music industry by storm.

While we await Griselda to unleash their forthcoming group project for Shady Records (What Would Chine Gun Do which will be released in November) and Conway’s solo project for Shady Records (God Don’t Make Mistakes, which will be released in October and features the lead-single “Bang!” featuring Eminem), today Conway released his prelude project, Look What I Became, which is executive produced by Westside Gunn.

Look What I Became… is an appetizer before God Don’t Mistakes.  I’m just staying on fire and keeping the streets feed and satisfied.  I’m painting pictures” Conway confidently asserts.  “I came from the bottom, from nothing, and now I’m on a major label and making music with Eminem.  This project is a blueprint of that.  It’s an incredible project and body of work and one of my favorite projects I’ve recorded thus far.  I trust Westside’s vision and process to bring everything together how I want to be presented. A nugget aint a nugget until it’s dipped in sauce. His flavor puts it over the top.”

Look What I Became features guest appearances and production from Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Dave East, Jim Jones, Alchemist, Statik Selektah, DJ Muggs and Daringer.

As an added bonus, Conway also released a visual for the projects first single, Tito’s Back,” featuring Benny The Butcher & Westside Gunn.

Conway The Machine feat. Benny The Butcher & Westside Gunn – “Tito’s Back”

Over the three volumes of his Everybody Is F.O.O.D. franchise, Conway’s credo has been you’ve got to eat what you kill and that’s how you get to where you’re going.  Nothing personal, nothing friendly and no handshakes.  Cold and calculated; that’s The Machine.

While we await Griselda to unleash their forthcoming group project for Shady Records (What Would Chine Gun Do which will be released in September) and Conway’s solo project for Shady Records (God Don’t Make Mistakes, which will be released in October and features the lead-single “Bang!” featuring Eminem), today Conway announces his prelude project, Look What I Became…, which will be released by Griselda Records and is executive produced by Westside Gunn.  To formally announce the project, Conway grabbed his Griselda brothers to join him on the projects lead-single, “Tito’s Back,” which is also produced by Griselda mainstay Daringer.

Look What I Became… is an appetizer before God Don’t Mistakes.  I’m just staying on fire and keeping the streets feed and satisfied.  I’m painting pictures” Conway confidently asserted.  “I came from the bottom, from nothing, and now I’m on a major label and making music with Eminem.  This project is a blueprint of that.  “Tito’s Back” is one of my favorites on the album.  It’s always dope to have the original four members (including Daringer) of Griselda all in the same room making fire.  Look What I Became… is an incredible project and body of work and one of my favorite’s I’ve recorded thus far.  I trust Westside’s vision and process to bring everything together how I want to be presented. A nugget ain’t a nugget until it’s dipped in sauce.  His flavor puts it over the top.”

Benny The Butcher – “Took The Money To The Plugs House” [Video]

Griselda’s own Benny The Butcher released his Tana Talk 3 project in the winter of 2018, the album was produced entirely by Griselda mainstay Daringer and Alchemist and included appearances from his Griselda/Shady Records label-mates Westside Gunn and Conway and Royce 5’9” and Meyhem Lauren.

TT3 peaked at #4 on Apple’s Hip-Hop chart upon its release and was a mainstay on the charts for months after. Commercial success aside, the album also resulted in tremendous critical acclaim, as it was included in “Best of 2018” lists from PitchforkComplex and a nod from Complex as one of its 20 Rappers to watch for 2019.  Benny also recently made “Headlines” alongside his Griselda brethren Westside Gunn and Conway guesting on DJ Premier’s latest single.

Whatever bar you use to assess who’s got next; Benny The Butcher surpasses it.  With his star clearly already on the rise and with anticipation at a fever pitch, Benny ascended to a new level with The Plugs I Met.  The project features collaborations with Pusha T (who essentially knights Benny on “18 Wheeler”), Black Thought, Jadakiss, Conway, RJ Payne, Alchemist and Daringer.  Now under the management of Roc Nation and spearheading his own fledgling Black Soprano Family imprint, The Plugs I Met is further proof that the future is now for Benny The Butcher.

Upon its release on 6-21-19, The Plugs I Met debuted at #2 on Apple’s Hip-Hop Chart and #15 overall (all genres).  And two-months after its release the project still resides on the charts (as does Tana Talk 3 which was released nine-months ago).

While the music world awaits Griselda’s group debut for Shady Records, What Would Chine Gun Do, which will be released in September, Benny circles back to The Plugs I Met and releases the projects second video for the fan favorite “Took The Money To The Plugs House,” which was exclusively premiered by Complex.

“The video depicts my transition from being incarcerated and separated everyday to what is important to me, to now being very visible and on a very large platform where fans rap along with my songs word for word—and I feel that energy during my shows” Benny commented to Complex.  “This has truly been a journey and I now truly feel like I ‘Took The Money To The Plugs House.”

“Just like the track, the” 5 to 50” video is inspired by real life events.  It’s my side of the story, along with India’s side of the story; and it depicts how those stories collide” Benny recalled.  “I bring you to Montana Ave; the block where I am from and illustrate my lifestyle and how some of those lifestyle choices affected India.   This was our life and it captures both perspectives.”
