R&B/Soul recording artist Stee today released his new single “I’m A Lover”. The track premiered exclusively yesterday via Soultracks who called it “an intricate slow jam.”
“I’m a Lover” is a melodic and lyrical journey that tells the story of a man trying to win over a woman who is hesitant to give him a shot. The single was written by Stee himself and produced by Malcolm Horne.
Stee, a.ka. Sterlin Colvin III, started his career in the limelight after landing his first acting gig in the fall of 1995 with a small show on the rise called “Creative Clubhouse”. At the end of the of summer 1997, Stee decided to bring his acting career to a halt, finding it difficult to maintain such a rigorous schedule at such a young age.
Stee discovered his passion for music through a fateful meeting in his church in 2001, where he met young songwriter/producer named Malcolm Horne. Malcolm Horne saw Stee as someone who had the ability and talent to bring his productions to life. Although both had no previous plans of pursuing music, their undeniable chemistry sparked the idea that they could both find success in music.
Stee released his debut single, “Good Man”, in 2008. The song gained major recognition when a YouTube curator took a liking to the song and posted it on Youtube’s front page, jump-starting Stee’s independent music career. From this came Stee sharing the stage with major heavyweights like Monica, Lloyd, Marques Houston, & OutKast’s Big Boi as well as working with Big Boi’s Big Kidz Foundation.
Stee is now ready to unveil his newest track, “I’m A Lover”.
“Bad Guy” was written, engineered and produced with Don Korleone along with Spaceman. Don Korleone plays with genre throughout the track, showcasing his versatility and ability to craft his own sound with witty lyrics, seamless flower and elements of trap, gospel, and electronica from several eras. “Bad Guy” showcases Don Korleone’s innate ability to master his sound at such an impressive young age.
He wrote the track during a time where he started to drift from his family and loved ones, while he was taking the time to truly hone in on his craft of storytelling through music. The track urges you to always look at the bigger picture and see the positive, even if it may seem impossible.
Don Korleone grew up in Highland, California, where from a young age he was attracted to the arts. After hanging out with a bad crowd, Don Korleone was sent to live with his aunt in North Carolina. It was there that he developed his lyrical craft and flow. After nine months living with his aunt, he returned to California and started to record videos of himself freestyling and posted them to YouTube. When he returned he got his first job flipping burgers and made enough money to purchase a home studio- and set off to teach himself how to produce.
Three years later, Don Korleone is ready to release his latest single “Bad Guy” and share his talent with the world.
